Stacey Griffin, founder of AQUA2GO®, is a resident and business owner in New Orleans, Louisiana. She graduated from Tulane School of Social Work in 1995. After several years of working in the field, she opened a psychiatric facility for low-income children and adolescents in 2000. In August 2006, like many others in New Orleans, the business was lost during Hurricane Katrina.

However, she and her family returned to New Orleans post-Katrina, where she was able to rebuild the agency. It is currently once again serving children and adolescents in the Greater New Orleans area with severe psychiatric illness (www.milestonesmha.com).

Then, one year later, when life seemed to be calming down, an idea for a water product was sparked during a family vacation. In an effort to find a creative way to encourage her daughter to choose water over juice, she thought of putting water in a "juice box."

Her research began immediately. Stacey quickly found that water boxes had been around for many years, and that this was not a new concept. However, the fact remained that she could not purchase them at her local grocery, and figured that many other people in the country could not either.

Stacey then decided to create a water box product that could be available nationwide in stores. She believes that water boxes, if used wisely and responsibly by consumers, are useful for a variety of purposes such as emergency preparedness (due to 5 year shelf life), large gatherings, and other situations in which access to clean water and/or reusable containers is not an option.

The product was created and developed over a five month period, and became available for sale in December 2006. Stacey's husband, Tal, along with many of her friends and family, provided valuable creative input and support throughout the process to accomplish this goal. Stacey says that the final product is a loving collaboration of everyone involved.

The list of merchants selling AQUA2GO is growing at a steady pace, and can be viewed on the website's Where to Buy page. Stacey has secured local and national distributors for AQUA2GO®.

Due to an obvious interest in the well-being of children and helping others in need, Stacey decided that this new company would be active in charitable organizations. She hopes that her company's involvement with a variety of organizations may motivate other small companies to get involved as well (see the Making A Difference page).
